From September 8 to 12, a delegation led by Prof. Yan Shirong, Vice President of Hubei University of Medicine (HUM), visited Nepal and established partnership with Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences, and Kantipur Dental College affiliated to Kathmandu University.
At Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences, the delegates met with the Vice Chancellor Prof. Bharat Bahadur Khatri, Dean Associate Prof. David Shrestha, Head of the Journal and the Research Council. Both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding after in-depth discussions on joint education programs, faculty andstudent exchange, and collaborative research.
At Kantipur Dental College, the delegates met with the CEO/Founding ChairmanDr. Buddhi Man Shrestha, Principal Prof. Rabindra Man Shrestha, Hospital Director, International Coordinator & Vice principal, exchanging ideas about cooperation in the field of dentistry. The delegates also visited the Dental Hospital, attended a meeting with faculty, doctors and students to introduce Hubei University of Medicine and the international education. On the Meeting both sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
During the visit, the delegates also met with Dr. Abhinav Dahal, Head of the “Hubei University of Medicine Nepali Alumni Home”. Dr. Dahal, a 2017 master graduate in Internal Medicine from the University who was honored as “Good Person of Shiyan”, currently serves as Chief Consultant Physician and Department in-charge of Internal Medicine at Kathmandu Model Hospital. Vice President Yan Shirong expressed high hopes for the alumni, encouraging the “Nepali Alumni Home” to function as a bridge for communication, strengthen ties among alumni, and facilitate deeper interaction between graduates and the alma mater.
Despite a tight schedule, the delegation overcame multiple challenges and successfully accomplished the objectives of the visit through the joint efforts of all parties. This visithas expanded international cooperation resources, resulted in signed agreements, and laid a solid foundation for further exchange and collaboration.
The delegation included representatives from the Department of International Relations and Exchange and the Graduate School.
