In order to build a multicultural exchange platform, showcase the charm of international students, and enhance the friendship between Chinese and foreign teachers and students,College of International Education held the2026One Family on the Belt and RoadInternational Cultural Festival on the evening of May 24th in No. 8 Teaching Building.
At the beginning of the event, the "National Cultural Show" segment ignited the atmosphere on site. International students from various countries vividly presented their unique customs through costume displays and ethnic dances. Subsequently, the college leader delivered a speech, extending warm greetings and best wishes to international students, and encouraged everyone to take this event as an opportunity to become messengers of cultural exchange, enhancing understandingand growing through mutual learning and appreciation.
During the solemn "Medical Student Oath" ceremony, international students raised their right fists together, pledging the medical oath of "Health is entrusted to me, life is at stake." The resounding and powerful oath demonstrated the responsibility and commitment of medical students, as well as the strong bond between students of different nationalities due to their shared medical ideals. After the oath-taking, the college presented honorary certificates to outstanding international students who had performed exceptionally well in academic and cultural activities, affirming their efforts and progress and inspiring more students to strive for excellence.
The cultural performance session was splendid. The Chinese and English song medley built a bridge between language and emotion with its touching melodies;ethnic dances from Pakistan, Sudan, and Egypt were highly distinctive, with lively steps and distinct rhythms showcasing the cultural flavors of each country;combining strength and grace, the Tai Chi show lets international students appreciate the appeal of traditional Chinese martial arts culture firsthand; the English poetry recitation conveyed the power of youth and dreams through beautiful words and sentences.
The event also specially set up a welcome ceremony for freshmen and a farewell ceremony for graduates. In a warm atmosphere, the college extended welcome and blessings to the newly enrolled international students, hoping they would integrate into the big family of HubeiUniversity ofMedicine more quickly; at the same time, it conveyed good wishes to the international students about to graduate, wishing them to embark on a new journey with what they have learned and become bridges for friendly exchanges between China and foreign countries.
ThisOne Family on the Belt and RoadInternational Cultural Festival not only built a stage for cultural exchange between Chinese and foreign teachers and students but also allowed different civilizations to shine through mutual learning.
