On the afternoon of April 29th, College of International Education, in collaboration with the Security Department, organized a full-process and practical fire drill for international students covering evacuation and escape as well as hands-on firefighting.
The drill was carried out in two phases in an orderly manner. At the evacuation and escape drill site of HuichengDormitory, as the fire alarm and broadcast sounded, international students from 11-17floors responded quickly. Under the guidance of floor evacuation guides, they bent down and evacuated along the nearest evacuation routes. After all personnel safely reached the assembly point on the first floor, the on-site staff quickly counted the number of people and led everyone to theWenming Square to enter the next phase of practical training.
At the fire extinguishing drill site in theWenming Square, the security department teachers first explained to the international students the classification and applicable scenarios of water-based, foam, carbon dioxide, and dry powder fire extinguishers. They focused on demonstrating the standard operating procedure of 'lifting, pulling, holding, and pressing' for dry powder fire extinguishers, as well as the key points for fighting incipient fires. At the same time, they demonstrated the correct way to wear a fire escape mask on-site, helping everyone master the key skills for escaping from a fire scene. Subsequently, the international students conducted practical exercises in batches, actively participating and operating carefully, further consolidating their learned knowledge through practice.
This practical drill strengthened international students' knowledge of fire safety and emergency response skills, effectively enhancing their ability to save themselves and each other in case of sudden fires. In the future, theCollegeof International Education will continue to carry out various safety education and emergency drills regularly to safeguard students' safety and jointly create a safe campus environment.
