The Biomedical Institute of Hubei University of Medicine was founded on October 15, 2010. The Biomedical Institute has 9 staff members; 3 doctors and 4 with senior titles. Director Dr. Meng Zhongji, leaving Germany Postdoctoral, chief physician, associate professor, master supervisor, Chutian scholars, Chinese Medical Association Hepatology Youth Committee, Hubei New Century Talents Project high-level candidates, Shiyan outstanding young talents, Taihe Hospital of Hubei Medical College of infectious diseases subject leaders.
The Biomedical Institute has an area of 350 square meters which is divided into a medical research platform and transfer research platform. The Biomedical Institute is equipped with a ABI real-time quantitative PCR instrument, Com.tec blood cell separator, Olympus fluorescence microscope camera system, Beckman large capacity refrigerated centrifuge equipment all of these worth nearly 600 million yuan. The research platform has a paternity test laboratory, molecular biology lab, PCR lab, RNA laboratories, Cell Laboratory, electrophoresis chamber, imaging room. Translational Medicine Platform CIK cell treatment center, including a laminar flow of immune cells laboratories, blood cell collection chamber, immune cell therapy room and waiting room. The Biomedical Institute is the first place in Hubei to perform the CIK and DC vaccines and other immune cell therapy techniques. Available scientific and technical services include: molecular cloning, protein expression, purification, protein detection techniques (ELISA, Western blot, immunofluorescence), nucleic acid detection techniques (Southern, Northern hybridization, quantitative real-time PCR), cell culture, RNAi related technologies and more. The host DC-CIK, DC vaccines and other immune cell therapy technology has formed a scientific system. Since the inception of the Biomedical Institute, they have undertaken more than 10 research projects, including the major projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology Department and the provincial sub-project development plans. 16 papers have been published, of which 4 are cited by SCI.
