HUM library is the information center for teaching, research, health care, and medical documentation. It has a construction area of 13,000 square meters, with up to 1500 reading and learning seats. It has Editorial Office, Circulation Office, Journal Office, Technology Office, Reference Office, Reader Service Office, Director’s Office, and Information Retrieval Teaching Office. By the end of 2012, the total cumulative amount of books had been over 840,00 copies, audio and video materials of more than 3,500 pieces, more than 1000 kinds of Chinese and foreign journals, more than 12,000 electronic journals and electronic books over 1.46 million copies. It has 14 kinds of Chinese and foreign databases, 6 self-built database, where “Special Database in anesthesiology” has won the third stage national University CALIS Special Subject Database Project and concluding acceptance. The library has a newspaper reading room, reading room for natural sciences,   reading room for social sciences, printing room and electronic reading room, all open to the teachers and students, with the weekly opening hours up to 84 hours for the newspaper reading room and electronic reading room. Online resources are accessible round the clock every day per week.
