The13th Japan-China Joint Seminar on Histochemistry and Cytochemistry (JCJSHC) washeld in Kobe and Tokushima, Japan from September 19th to 23nd, 2019. ProfessorLI He, President of Hubei University of Medicine, also the director of the International Federation of Societies for Histochemistry and Cytochemistry(IFSHC), Chairman of the Committee of the Chinese Anatomical Society forHistology and Embryology, the Chinese Side Chair of the 7th, 8th, 9th and 11th JCJSHC,attended and presided over the Seminar. During the Seminar, Chinese expertshave carried out in-depth academic and cultural exchanges with the Japanesecounterparts, and gained fruitful experience.
Atthe Seminar, Professor LI He delivered a warm speech at the welcome reception, expressed gratitude to the great efforts made by Japanese Organizers for the 13thJCJSHC and congratulations on the 60thSession of the Japanese Academy of Histochemistry and Cytochemistry. He also reviewed the history of JCJSHC by presenting the 1st to the 12th session with detailed graphicmaterials.
Professor ZHOU Deshan, Vice President and Secretary-General of Chinese Anatomy Association and Chairman of Embryo Professional Committee of Chinese Anatomy Association, the Chinese Side President of JCJSHC, delivered a speech in fluentJapanese.
The Seminar concluded 2 plenary lectures, 6 symposia, general sessions and postersessions with the focus on the topics about carbohydrate, epigenetics, hardtissues, brain sciences, l immunity and cell response, and new techniques,which offered an excellent experience for the young scholars.
The JCJSHC was initiated by the co-organization of Chinese Professor AI Minkang from Tongji Medical College of HUST, PIAO Yingjie from Southern Medical University and the Japanese professor Kawabata from Kyoto University, and it isthe 30th anniversary of JCJSHC since it was first held in Guangzhou, China in1989. During the past 30 years, JCJSHC has contributed greatly to thescientific development by building an important platform for both Chineseand Japanese scholars in the fields of Histo-embryology and exerted profoundinfluence in the world.
