1. Students Union

Aiming at Serving for the students, the Students Union for Hubei University of Medicine is an autonomous organization run by the students of Hubei University of Medicine. The Student Union acts as a bridge between the university and its students, by establishing itself as a communication channel between students and the university. Suggestions, concerns and advice from the students are collected by the Student Union and are used as references for the university when making rules and regulations. The Student Union also participates in the management of university affairs and protect the rights and interests of the students. Students are guided by the Union to conduct self-service, autonomous management, and self-cultivation. The Student Union organizes activities that include learning, scientific research, recreation and volunteer activities to enrich the students’ campus life. The Students Union consists of the following 11 departments and branches: Secretary's Office, Study and Research, Information, Sports, Marketing, Living and Labor, the Girls Department, Literature and Art, Discipline Inspection, Public Relations and, Civilization Supervision.

2. Association Union

As the bridge between Youth League Committee of HUM and the students’ communities and associations, the Association Union is an student’organization that conducts self-instruction, autonomous management and self-service. Standardizing the development of students’ associations, exploiting the potential of students’ associations, improving students’ skills and enriching campus culture, the Association Union aims at uniting all of the students’ associations, improving students’ comprehensive abilities and building a harmonious campus life.  

The Association Union is responsible for the activities organized by the students’ association. Currently, the Association Union consists of 31 different students’ associations The students’ associations can be divided into 5 categories; theoretical study, literature creation, recreation and sports, public service and Arts and Humanities. Of the many clubs The Association Union runs, among them are; the Loving Heart Society, the Table Tennis and Badminton Association, Jianghanchao Literary Club, Baicao Poem Club, Xinglin Reading Club, Yixuan Chess Club, the Communication and Eloquence Club, the Chinese Calligraphy And Painting Association, the English Club, the Deep Blue Music Association, the Psychology Association, the Hip-Hop Association, the Computer Association, the Science Association, the Environmental Protection Association, the College Student Legal Assistance Center, the Billiards Association, the Photography Association, the Basketball Association, the Football Association, the Career Plan and Development Association, the Animation Association, the Martial Arts Association, the Yoga Association, Zhuoxing Emerging Sports Association, the Philatelic Association, the Karate Association, the Tennis Association, the Youth Academic Association and the Magic Association, all with the total number of 2,800 students.

3. Students Art Troupe

The Students Art Troupe (SAT) is made up of the students who are favor the arts and have a specific art specialty. SAT is a student organization that allows them to practice and create art activities for students. SAT aims at producing art elites who can participate in national, provincial and municipal level art performances. The members of the Troupe are also involved in art activities on campus.

The Troupe consists of 3 departments: secretarial, marketing and discipline inspection. There are 8 art groups including a dancing team, guard of honor, chorus, Drama Club, Host Team, orchestra, make-up and stage management.

4. Young Volunteers Association

The Youth Volunteers Association is a student organization made up of students who volunteer for public service and community uplifting activities. The Association consists of 4 departments: Secretarial, marketing, HR and, Planning. The three-level management system of the Youth Volunteers Association of HUM includes Branch Associations of schools and volunteer teams. Guided by devotion, caring, mutual aid and progress, the Association is always finding volunteer activities for the whole year. These activities are usually planned in March each year and the activity begins with “Lei Feng Month” project that ends on December 5th, the International Volunteer Day .

5. Pengbei Psychology Consultation Association

Caring for your mental health, listening to your troubles and creating happy lives, the Pengbei Psychology Consultation Association provides psychology consultations under the direction of professionals, experts and teachers. Guided by the idea of Passing the love of your mental health, sharing the happiness and pain and growing up together, the members of the Association, as the friends and peers of the students, conduct psychology consultations in several forms; face to face talk, online consultations and, class lectures. Their regular activities include psychological quality development, introductions to mental health knowledge, psychological knowledge and skill training, a weekend Mental Health Salon, psychological instruction, mutual aid on mental health, the May 25 College Student Psychological Health Activities, freshman psychological assessment and crisis intervention. The Consultation Association provides a platform for the students to vent, and relieve the pressure of interpersonal interaction, social adaptation, study, and emotions throughout campus life to help them learn to regulate their emotions independently.

6. Labor Union for Students in Work/Study Program

The Labor Union for Work/Study Students (the Branch) is approved by the Hubei Province General Labor Union and authorized by the Shiyan Municipal General Labor Union. It is a grass-roots unit for the students of work and study first, it was independently founded for the universities in Hubei Province. The Branch is in the charge of the Labor Union at HUM and works under the direction of the student affairs department, youth league committee and, student financial assistance center. It is a unique service organization administered directly by the University for the students of work/study programs.

The Branch consists of departments in presidium, administration, HR, marketing, publicity, rights and interests protection and projects. Sticking to the idea of win-win relationships between students and employers, and guided by honesty, harmony and perseverance, the Branch recruits excellent students from the University according to employer requirements and provides the employer with students with diligence and high quality, this constructs the best bridge between the University and employers.

7. Association Of Student Journalists of HUM Newspaper

The Association of Student Journalists of HUM Newspaper,is a student organization devoted to news photography, editing and writing. The Association consists of 5 departments; editing, news photography, journalism, secretarial and technology. The Association is in charge collecting and editing pictures and news that relates to campus life. They are also the sources for the journal and website of Hubei University of Medicine. The members of the Association are involved in the planning, editing, composing and proofreading. The Association serves teachers and students, guided by the improvement of student journalists, the members of the association will try their best to show the excellence of Hubei University and of the students of the outside world, and explore the scientific path for the students journalists’ development.
