The Fifth Clinical School was established in April 2013 on the basis of Suizhou Central Hospital, an affiliate hospital of Hubei University. The Fifth Clinical School has enrolled more than 200 clinical and nursing students and will being teaching clinical medicine and nursing education in 2013.

Suizhou Hospital Affiliated with Hubei University of Medicine has invested a lot of money on constructing a teaching area and a new hospital building. The new building has 2,000 beds. The teaching area is comprised of a teaching building, lecture hall, student dormitory, library and canteen, which surround a 21,200m2 area.

The Fifth Clinical School offers two undergraduate programs; clinical medicine and nursing. The total number of students expected in 1,000 over the next five years. It consists of the fifth department of clinical medicine and 16 teaching and researching offices. The Fifth Clinical School pays high attention to teaching, guided by the university motto of integrity, industry, verity and creativity. The Fifth Clinical School sticks to the principle of teaching oriented education and aims to produce medical talents with a solid theoretical foundation, excellent medical skills, high-spirited medical ethics. Students are encouraged to participate in research activities and clinical practice at an early stage of their education. All kinds of systems have also been established to cultivate students with the spirit of creativity, clinical thinking ability and practical ability through an emphasis on moral education. Many student extracurricular and social activities have been organized in hope of improving students’ comprehensive abilities.
