The Basic Medical Experimentation Center is a multi-purpose large-scale comprehensive basic medical teaching center which performs 230 basic medical experiments. All the basic medical experiments are instructed in the Center for many students from different schools including clinical medicine, nursing, anesthesiology, medical imaging, dentistry, pharmacology, laboratory science, rehabilitation therapy, public administration and more.
The Center has 39 employees including part-time staff, among the staff members; 14 are associate professors or professors. The Center has laboratories for morphology, biochemistry and immunology, etiology, medical functions, preventive medicine and, a student innovation base, all covering a total usable area of about 10,000 square meters. The Center has five etiological digital interactive laboratories and interactive multimedia microscopic teaching systems used to assist the teaching process teacher-student interaction teaching process under the control of the teachers with good morphology teaching quality. The computer biological signal recording and analyzing system can record the nerves, muscles, brain and cardiac electrical activity, pressure, tension, respiration, temperature and other biological functional signals and is also used to help students in the classroom. The Center also has seven international advanced virtual anatomy laboratories with an anatomy teaching software that elaborates human anatomical structures through visualization. By combining the digital technology with accurate anatomy teaching, the laboratories can use scans to convert sections to three-dimensional virtual anatomy.
The student innovation base at the Center has a molecular biology laboratory, cell culture laboratory, electrophysiology laboratory and molecular pharmacology laboratory. The labs are equipped with ZEISS confocal microscopes, patch clamps, fluorescence microscopes, LEICA image analysis instruments, PCR instruments, gel imaging analysis systems, MILLIPORE ultrapure water systems and other large equipment. Our equipment provides a good foundation for the training of graduate students and it is an important scientific research base for both university students and graduates.
The Center makes use of modern techniques to achieve network teaching of the laboratory teaching. In teaching content, life activities are used as the main line, with the integration of multi-disciplinary knowledge, students are trained to perform comprehensive analysis and use problem-solving skills. Financially, The Center sets up a special fund for university students’ scientific research and encourages them to carry out their own innovative research.
